Topic: Baptism of fire

Verse: 1 Kings 18

Do you have the baptism of fire? That was the question posed by Bro. Elijah during youth service. When the baptism of fire came down unto Elijah, Elijah began to do great things for God. Now, what are the different fires that were exhibited on Elijah?

1.Fire of obedience (v.1-2)

Elijah was obedient to God by meeting Ahab although Ahab wanted to kill him

2.Fire of faith (v.19,24)

Elijah was full of faith when he challenged the prophets of Baal to a showdown of true God at Mount Carmel

3.Fire of prayer (v 30)

Elijah used a simple prayer to God so that God listened to him

4.Fire of sacrifice (v 33)

God listened to Elijah’s prayer by sending a fire down from heaven to consume the sacrifice on the altar.

5.Fire of power (v 38)

All the people knew who true God is when Elijah showed the Holy Spirit’s power manifested in him.

What had the fire of the Holy Spirit accomplish?

1. Awakening of the spirit (v 38)

Everyone present at Mount Carmel had awakening of their spirits when they saw who the true God is.

2.Returning of the people’s hearts (v 39)

Elijah made the people to see the true God and made the people to return to the one True God when they knelt down and cried out to God.

3.Termination of false gods (v 40)

Elijah was able to make the people to worship God Almighty and not Baal anymore.

4.Rain of revival (v 45)

Rain finally returned after 3 years of drought by the command of Elijah.

During the service, Bro. Elijah also saw a vision where he saw fire on some people’s body indicating the fire of the Holy Spirit, they are called to come out from the comfort zone because now is the time, revival is in Malaysia now. They were chosen by God to bring the fire of gospel to the nation.
